Dr. Gary G. Eggers

Gary was born and raised in western Iowa, the son of two teachers. Education was important while growing up, but he also loved sports and the outdoors (earning the rank of Eagle Scout in high school.)

Gary attended college at Iowa State University of Science and Technology receiving his degree in Zoology and spent a year in the ISU master’s program in Human Physiology. In addition to academics at Iowa State, Gary was on a football scholarship as a quarterback and lettered 3 times in track and field throwing the javelin.

After his time at Iowa State, Gary entered the University of Iowa Dental School where he earned his DDS. After graduation, he served 2 years in the US Navy Dental Corps at the Marine Corp Base at 29 Palms.

In 1974, he moved his family to the Bay Area where he transitioned into private practice with Donald Ostrus in Palo Alto. After 34 terrific years on Welch Road in Palo Alto, he moved his practice and opened his new, current facility at 695 Oak Grove Avenue in Menlo Park.

Gary is a member of the American, California and Mid-Peninsula Dental Associations. He served 7 years as a board member and a term as the President of Mid-Peninsula Dental Society. Some of Gary’s professional interests include oral surgery, implants, bone regeneration, periodontal advances, infectious diseases, restorative materials and treatment planning.

Outside the office, Gary’s hobbies continue to revolve around sports and the outdoors with golf, skiing, bicycling, canoeing and photography taking up a good chunk of his time. The rest is devoted to his family, with special attention over the last 6 years to his 2 children and 5 grandchildren!
